Letterland Child Friendly Phonics

Letterland is a unique, phonics-based approach to teaching, reading, writing and spelling to 3- 8 year olds. This program has been developed by Lyn Wendon in the UK and is used extensively in South Africa. Its information-rich Letterland characters transform plain black letter shapes into child-friendly pictograms. The characters all live in an imaginary place called Letterland.

Simple stories abouthe Letterland characters and their lives, engage attention, develop listening and speaking skills, strengthen phonemic awareness and expand children’s vocabulary.

Letterland activates every learning channel, using music, actions, movement, songs, art, craft, games, role play, rhyme and social interaction – all linked directly to letter knowledge.
